Picture this.
It’s the end of a long, busy day. Dinner is done. Little teeth have been brushed. Pajamas are on. Bath time has been conquered, and somehow most of the water stayed in the tub. The house is beginning to quiet down, and now you’ve reached your favorite part of the night routine: story time.
A child curls up beside you, snuggled under their favorite blanket and for a few precious minutes, you get lost in the pages of a gentle nighttime story together.
That is who I write for.
I write for the tired parents looking for a gentle way to end the day. I write for the generous caregivers creating memories one bedtime story at a time. I write for the children whose imaginations come alive as they drift toward sleep.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of sitting with my grandmothers and reading stories in my Pajamas. Those quiet moments felt safe, comforting, and magical. Long before I dreamed of writing children’s books, I was falling in love with the feeling a story could create.
When I write, I hope to capture a little of that same feeling.
My stories are meant to be calm and comforting, with a bedtime rhythm that helps children settle in for the night. I want my books to feel like a deep breath at the end of a busy day.
In a small way, I hope to be a behind-the-scenes helper for the parents doing the important work of raising kind, curious little humans. If one of my stories helps create a peaceful bedtime, sparks a meaningful conversation, or becomes part of a family’s favorite memories, then I’ve done exactly what I set out to do.
